This research includes a conceptual model to explore the complex relationships between different representations of cadastral boundaries. This model, which has broad application, is known as the Cadastral Triangular Model (CTM). The CTM is a valuable tool to explore and resolve complex issues facing cadastral systems, for example proposals for the evolution of 3D cadastres. This research also identifies further applications of this model to address contemporary issues confronting cadastral authorities, e.g. the optimal positional uncertainty of spatial cadastres.
