The report provides a strategy for immediate transition and long-term transformation in the Gippsland region, with particular attention on the Latrobe Valley sub-region. It is informed by an event titled 'Transition and Transformation Working Conference', held at Federation campus (Gippsland on 29th November 2016). This report is based on the conference discussion, which for many was also informed by the Regional Assembly Gippsland, 17 November 2016. 2. This strategy document can only be implemented by those within the region. It aims to: a. Identify the key assets that define the Gippsland economy b. Examine how these assets can be leveraged to benefit the Gippsland society c. Suggest selected examples for development that can be achieved in a practical way over specified time periods 3. The report will inform the Regional Partnership submission to the government for action in Gippsland and it will inform Gippsland end users who will be responsible for and involved in leveraging assets (natural and social), with a range of others, including state agencies, educational and research establishments, associations and active groups within the area.
