This research report presents important findings from the first four waves of the JH study which were conducted over an 18 month period between September 2011 and May 2013. There are five separate sections in the report and in each section a key issue affecting the homeless and people facing housing insecurity is explored in some depth. The five issues examined include the duration of homelessness, mental illness and homelessness, psychological distress and homelessness, substance use and homelessness, and links between child and adult abuse and violence.
