The Level Crossing Removal Program (LXRP) is a major infrastructure investment undertaken by the Government of Victoria through the purposefully established Level Crossing Removal Authority (LXRA). The program comprises 11 alliance work packages that in turn deliver a series of projects in an integrated and collaborative fashion. The scope of the overall program is to deliver removal of 50 rail crossings, rail‐road grade separation, rail station upgrades, refurbishment or entirely new stations and significant rail track and signalling works. This scope, based on a program of works commenced in 2014 and to be completed in 2022, is estimated to cost $8.3 billion as of July 2017 [1].
