The main purpose of the NCE Market Research report is to review the market context of the NCE. The report reviews exhibition experiences at fifteen educational tourism and related institutions to: identify examples of good practice that are relevant to the NCE Renewal and Fitout project; identify key aspects of exhibition practice that NCE can provide as a point of difference; and to identify potential conflicts, overlaps and gaps in content delivery. As the report focuses on visitor experience aspects of each exhibition, the primary method for data collection is first-hand experience of each site. It is therefore limited in scope to what was available and experienced on that visit. It does not seek to present holistic review of each institution and its offerings and does not include visitor research or assessment of educational resources, public engagement, web resources and tours as these are outside the project's scope. The report concludes with some recommendations and notes towards a redefinition of the NCE's role and purpose in the Canberra educational tourism context. The Market Research report will inform development of the curatorial story, interpretation strategy and design concept for the NCE renewal
