report
posted on 2024-10-30, 17:43 authored by Guy Johnson, Chris Chamberlain
The Melbourne Street to Home project is funded for three years as part of the National Partnership Agreement on Homelessness. The Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) commissioned RMIT University to evaluate the first 12 months of the program. HomeGround Services and The Salvation Army contributed additional funding to extend the evaluation to cover 24 months. The aim of Street to Home is to support chronically homeless people into permanent housing and to assist them to address their health problems. There are two parts to this report. First, it compares the characteristics of the clients who came into the program in the first year (Cohort 1) with those who entered in the second year (Cohort 2). Second, the report examines the circumstances of people in Cohort 1 after 12 months.
