Dr Wang investigated resource management and scheduling for distributed stream processing engines. The research found that generic mathematics models are critical to capture the dynamic behaviour of stream processing, and resulted in a range of operator placement methods concerning Quality-of-Service variance, the network condition, the inter-operator traffic and state locality.
