Globalisation, state responses, and transition in the Thai sugar industry

Dr. Wannaree explored how globalisation has impacted traditional agriculture industries at local production sites, and how industry stakeholders have interpreted and responded to associated challenges. A qualitative case study approach was adopted. His study advances our overall understanding of how globalisation, both as an idea and a material process, transforms local agricultural industries and highlights how governments and other key industry stakeholders might sustain the viability of such industries.
