In Flux is a practice-led research project that investigates a range of indeterminate, transitive materials through the languages of sculpture and installation. Through both a studio-based and exhibition methodology the research explores the latent potentials within certain classes of materials.
This project is situated within the rich context of material exploration within art history and contemporary thought around temporal sculpture and meaning within materials.
In Flux resulted in a series of durational, sculptural installation works. The temporal and indeterminate nature of these material sculptures creates mutable boundaries within the objects and their spaces of display. In Flux examines how these shifting perimeters disrupt the stability of the spatial encounter.
