This study presents an analysis of nail art as a significant and emerging field of creative practice. Despite its growing popularity, nail art is often disregarded in traditional art discourse and considered a superficial and decorative practice. Through an exploration of the creative process, materials used, and skills required for nail art, this research challenges this notion and highlights the shared craftsmanship between traditional art practices and nail artistry. Additionally, the experiences and challenges faced by the nail artist in their practice are examined, shedding light on the significance of nail art as a means of artistic expression, cultural identification, and social critique. By examining the 'art' in nail art, this research contributes to a broader conversation about the nature and boundaries of art, demonstrating the power of broader creative practices as sites of cultural production and critique.
