Dr. Sharma focuses on charge carrier and phonon dynamics of topological materials, exploring excited bulk and surface charge carriers and researching coherent optical and acoustic phonon oscillations in the terahertz and gigahertz zone, respectively. The goal of this study is to create adjustable terahertz devices and investigate the optical phenomena seen in topological materials. The study also looks into the temperature-dependent probing of these materials and their potential applications in the terahertz frequencies, where topological materials can be used as narrowband absorbers, filters, and sensors based on two periodic metallic structures on flexible substrates. Overall, the thesis offers a thorough examination of topological materials, ranging from their fundamental band structure through their proposed industrial applications.
